The music on this card was a huge project. I thank my dad for lots and lots of help. (Of course, he's the one who made it a huge project in the first place). He suggested that I use a song from our hymnal: "In Christ There Is No East Or West, In Him No South Or North...." And that I make it sound like it was played on a calliope (carousel style). He played the melody on a recorder, then we worked on it in SoundEdit. We copied it a few times, into several other octaves, to get an organ sound. But the basic tune didn't sound playful enough for a carousel organ, so we moved some notes around and stretched it into a new tune. Then we added a few bells and whistles... tinkle bells for a tambourine, penny whistle for organ toots, handbells from my Christmas Handbell card. The bass drum was played on my sister's bodhrán. We spent two whole days on the arrangement, and it even turned out to sound sort of like a carousel.
But...
When we heard what a clear sweet arrangement our good friend Curt Cassingham could create on MIDI, our work was history. His arrangement is what you hear on the card.
